Also another question, first time El Al flier (either codeshare or El Al metal), how much extra time should I allocate for the extra security checks? As an Elite on the codeshare, I should be able to use the Business class check-in, right?

El-Al is not in One World alliance, so don't expect your OW benefits to carry to much sway. If you are flying F or C, there will be line for you. Give the security process 2-2.5 hrs before departure time. My advice, don't try to sweet talk your way to any particular check-in line and just go with the flow as LY takes security a little differently then other airlines you've previously flown.
