That is just so NOT true that it isn't even funny. Quite often, there are NO award seats issued 330 days out. You CANNOT count on there being any particular award seats available at any particular point in time. The myth of abundant award seats at 330 days ahead has been thoroughly debunked on this forum. (The problem is, something that was once true a number of years ago can change, but people cling to the belief, in spite of all evidence to the contrary, that it is still true.)

The reality is, award seats are released into inventory over time, starting AS EARLY AS 330 days out. You just have to keep looking for them periodically.

And you'll get better results by phoning (usually) than on the awards booking webpage. However, checking the webpage can be a useful "rough" tool; you might just luck out and find what you want! Also, other Star Alliance websites have been found to be useful for checking UA award availability -- such as ANA (don't know if this is still true, though -- is it?).

I've booked lots of awards (nearly all Saver awards), domestic and international, in different classes, usually not more than a few months in advance, and pretty often just a few weeks in advance. I've watched how award availability comes and goes over time. You often have to be patient and persistent to succeed.
