YX Barclay's Mastercard Targeted Bonus
I received the following e-mail today:
Now there's a great way to add extra miles to your Midwest Miles account. Simply use your Midwest Airlines MasterCard from October 1 through November 30, 2008. For every $1 you spend over $100.00 during that time period, you will earn one bonus mile.* That's in addition to the Midwest Miles you normally earn for purchases with your card.
. . .
* Offer exclusively for the member name and account number listed. Total purchase volume during October and November must exceed the dollar value listed before the bonus miles are earned for every dollar above that amount. Purchases will be tabulated based on transactions made during the promotion period, not on your MasterCard statement cycle. Bonus miles will appear automatically in your Midwest Miles account no later than December 31, 2008. Maximum of 8,000 bonus miles per Midwest Airlines MasterCard account during this promotion. All Midwest Miles program rules apply. Midwest Airlines will be the final authority in determining qualification and participation in this promotion.
This applies to my "spend $2, earn 1 mile" MC that I've used only once or twice in the past year. I'm debating whether 1.5 YX miles are worth more than 1 AA mile for my near-term credit card spend. I'm leaning towards AA since I'm not close enough to any worthwhile YX rewards at the moment (e.g. Europe in business) to make this promotion worth pursuing.
