Another suggestion is to not depend only on United flights. UA is very stingy on business class seats to China. If you start checking 330 days in advance and still can't find any seats on UA, call and ask them to check partner airlines. You may find seats on a much better airline for the same amount of miles. Partner seats are not visible on United.com.
