I was going to mention that one but you realize it landed in 3' of water. It sat to the left of 28L for a while while they figured out how to salvage it. Pretty odd site indeed. That was a case where the calm, very shallow water and deep mud of SFO bay acted like foam on the landing. Again, in the right circumstances it can be done but the odds of a ditch happening in great conditions is slim in this era of very high tech equipment. Nowadays, if something goes tat wrong...you are in trouble.
