That's what insurance is for ...
oh i had travel insurance alright...but i need documentation from the airlines to say yes the bag is delayed/missing/whatever...of course AA wouldn't play ball - instead was pointed out to fill out a "property questionnaire" which is insufficient for a claim...
yes i didn't have receipts for the items missing, but who the hell carries receipts for items purchased prior to travel during their travel??? in any case my estimates were pretty much on the spot overall.
I did manage to get compensation for being bumped off - but only after i had written in to the powers that be and complained. again i believe i should have been offerred this without question rather than them trying to sneak away with it...
the 3 flights taken was because their flights from mainland to the big island were oversold so the only way to get there was go to maui then back to honolulu and then back to kona. of course they put me on a stupid little carrier called go! and somehow between the two of them my bags go missing - too much passing the blame between who should be responsible but my view is that the bags had AA tags on initially and they arranged all the fowarding of luggage so they had ultimate responsibility to ensure they were reunited with the passenger...clearly they didn't think so...
again 3rd rate service.
