I basically told them tough, sort it out...

Anyway they came back and said that they have got AC to give me a compassionate fare as i am going to a Funeral...

Is this ticket upgradable..Its now booked in B class..?...

Thank you.

Went through that dreadful scenario in August. I was told there was no compassionate fares from certain destinations. The AC agent was very kind but agreed this was a stupid rule as how do you know where you are going to be for work when a parent dies?

Again, AC agent was very kind but AC would not budge and treated me like any other Joe trying to get a flight out the next day.

You were lucky that you were in London. If you were in Asia on business and your parent died...AC regardless of status, upgrades, mileage this year means nada.
