Electronic Discount Certificates - Whole Amount Applied
This may be similar to is the $25 a $16 or $27 thread, but here's the scoop, or the fares being higher, and any input appreciated.
There's a fare I want to book today $217.13 on the UA site & $232 via phone. Ok, go to the ual site & book.
I have a $75 goodwill certificate which applies to the booking class of the $217.13 fare, which should bring the fare to $142.13.
However, when I type in the cert # on the home page, it brings me to $157.50, which is $59.63 less, not $75.
This is NOT a 15% discount cert which I understand does come off the base; this is a straight-forward $75 credit.
When I booked a fare a few weeks ago using the same (well dif cert # but same goodwill $75 thing) it took the $75 off the top, which is what I expect this one (since it's the same; only the cert # being dif).
So - what's up w/ this? Any ideas or suggestions? I need to ticket by midnight cuz of the weekend fare sales expiring then.
