After having difficulty over the past week with the recent transfer of English language services in Japan to Singapore (thread here), I called up the number for the "Elite Services Line from all areas in Japan" listed on the back of my Gold Elite card. (Maybe I should have done this to begin with. ) Or maybe not, as by dialing this number I found myself with the same announcement offering the choice of Japanese ("Press 1") or English ("Press 2") language service. Pressed "2" and found myself right back in Singapore.

Is there really a Gold Elite Line (or even just an elite line) for Japan, or am I just having a bad week?
