From the calendar on the DC web site, it looks like flights from MAN-LAS are still pretty open next summer, however LAS-MAN are non-existent.

I jumped on booking my outbound flight and redeemed a one-way miles+cash as soon as it appeared, hoping that if I was sharp then getting the return leg would be fairly easy.

As dates for August didn't appear I called DC and asked to be put on the wait list as soon as they would let me (11 months to the day before travel). A week later no response so I just called to check and the ICC advised me of a note on the request saying "unable to confirm seat availability, please try again in November".

Is this anything to be worried about? (I'm a new *G and this is my first waitlist request). Should I start looking at other routes, as it's going to be a busy time of year and difficult to get a redemption at all?
