It is coming up to October 15 here in a few hours.
The incredibly generous double status miles promo takes effect from then for all flights taken from that time - i.e. the very next UA flight out of here qualifies.
WHERE have United told anyone about it?
Has anyone in any part of the world received any form of direct communication advising them of this promo so they can plan ahead and book some flights?. (The entire reason UA ran this deal, after all!)
An email, a letter a phone call?
Perhaps I just missed the loop, but Joh and I have received zippo info about this.
The only time I have seen it mentioned on FT was where folks posted it a week or so back from the private 1K website to FlyerTalk - probably feeling in doing that it was OK, as it did say in T&C that all MP members were eligible to qualify for it.
As we realise that one tenth of one per cent of all MP members are 1Ks, how and when are the other 55 million members going to be advised of this promo?
Does anyone else find it inexplicably curious this has not been trumpeted from the rooftops by UA via a direct email or mail shot, seeing all flights MUST be completed by December 15?
They want bums on seats and heaps of them = money in bank = bye, bye Chapter 11 hopefully as a spin off to that.
This promo would likely achieve that if they actually told folks it existed.
