Plus I can't attach my tripod to it easily like I can on my larger backpack. Or course, I had to slightly modify the other bag to add the clips on for the tripod carrying, but the smaller Adventure 9 wouldn't accommodate that. I've also started occasionally carrying a view camera around that is too large to fit in the Adventure 9.
Just thought I'd share that I've now changed my tune. I added some straps to the front of the Adventure 9 and can now strap my tripod in pretty well. With that attached I now have it, a body, 3-5 lenses, a Dell D630 (15" widescreen) and room for batteries, a GPS unit, power cables, etc. in the bag. The tripod was the sticking point for me, and I've addressed that with some rather non-standard modifications, but I like the padded shoulder straps and padded laptop sleeve quite a bit, so I think I'm sold on the Adventure 9 for a while, unless I need to carry the view camera.
