Helping babies to sleep long-haul

I've done a number of searches on this subject but couldn't find an answer so apologies if I have missed an apropriate thread.

I have 4 long hauls coming up with my daughter who will be 13-14 months. She is a great sleeper, however, I have noticed that going through big airports such as LHR gets her so 'wired' that it takes a long time before she calms down enough to go to sleep.

I appreciate there are a lot of views about the apropriateness (or not) of giving babies something to help them sleep but would be interested in opinions / experiences of how to tackle this problem?

Many thanks
