...for bonds dated Februrary 2003 and later. If you bought bonds dated January 2003 or earlier, the holding period is 6 months.

Also, if you maxed out your $45000 in January (that was the limit then), you can sell the exact same bonds you bought in January now, and then buy $45,000 more. (Of course, you have already bought the extra $15000 now allowed for EE bonds, right?)
