If you charge your Safeway purchases to your AS Visa card you get miles for the $$ spent as well. I transferred my prescriptions to Safeway as well since it is not on the "excluded items" list:

"Excluded items are not eligible toward spending accumulation totals. Accumulations exclude purchases of Liquor, Tobacco, Fuel, US Postage Stamps, Fluid Milk, Bus/Commuter Passes, Fishing/Game Licenses, Ski Tickets, Lottery Tickets, Gift Certificate sales, Safeway/Carrs Club Savings, Safeway, Carrs, or Eagle Store Coupons, and Sales Tax."

I did find this interesting however:

"Offer valid only at participating Safeway, Carrs or Eagle stores from October 1, 2002 through February 1, 2009."

I was unaware that this program had a set end-date. Any possibility it will be extended/renewed beyond this date? Calling Missy! Any inside info?
