I was doubtful that 2P -> 1P was worth it, because I knew that if I went for 1P I would have to keep it because I would not want to go back to 2P. Being that 90% of my travel is personal it is a big step. However, I can affirm what others have said in that the jump from 2P to 1P is nearly as big as Gen. to 2P. The 100% mile bonus is terrific, the ability to book exit rows and simply the extra recognition when flying makes a big difference. So even as a 20 y/o college student, it's worth my money to keep 1P.
