Pilot's: Why would they lie to PAX?
So I was supposed to be on flight 6823 from MEM to DEN tonight...inbound flight running way behind....rain hitting the Tarmac..... anyways after a 1.5 hour delay we get on our flight. Push back and then hold for about 20-30 min not a word out of the cockpit, then they come on "Folks we are working with Mechanics in Denver on an issue where an engine light wont come on, hopefully we can get it resolved in the next couple of minutes" Next thing you know we pull up at the gate and have to get off the plane no explanation from pilots, no gate agent there(it was the last flight out, and they had left the area) Premier Exec desk showed flight cancelled due to weather, but I have 49 other PAX who would re-state what the pilot had told them. Anyways United PremExec desk cant rebook me on another airline since its not their fault... later on 50 pax line forms at check in desk, and they begin to process....Ticket counter sais, captain and crew had actually gone illegal, and that there was never a mech problem. Counter sais they will file complaint against the pilots. Anyways as a result of this lying fiasco, i cant get to denver tonight, must miss my con-call tommorow, and am stuck in some crappy hotel united swung for.
I definitley will be submitting a complaint about this one ( I rarely complain, but this one really hampered my ability to get reacommodated). Anyways why would the pilots make these false statements and stage a show?
