When buying a premium ticket the premium I pay (whether WT+ over WT or CW over WT+ etc) is for impoved space, improved catering, improved ancilliary services (luggage allowance, lounge access etc).

Introducing an additional charge, levy or 'surcharge' (or whatever other wheeze the marketing teams come up with) for these items will discourage me from flying BA and potentially gift a competitive advantage to whoever retains a full service airline.

It's simple in my mind, if I pay full service prices I expect a full service airline. If I pay rock-bottom fares I expect a rock-bottom service.

I sincerely hope that whichever BA lurkers are on this forum (WW himself maybe?) read this note and consider it during their review.

Appreciate the article may well not have the whole picture of what's going on inside BA at the moment (perhaps any friendly BA insiders could let us know?).
