I'm curious if these tickets still exist with the switch to e-tickets. Before one was able to purchase a full fare ticket that was open to be used on any carrier... You just walked up to the airline counter to see if they have space and give them your full fare ticket... However, it seems like nowadays all the tickets, even the most expensive ones come with the "valid on so and so carrier only, non-endorsable", etc....
