Thank you kkjay77. I browsed ANA tool & yes its possible to find NH C award seats or C award seats on Air Canada for next year -- just need have patience and do a lot of homework. Haven't called united to see if these seats seen on ANA tool are indeed available to book using UA miles.
On the other hand, CO is going to have EWR-PVG next spring and CO is joining *A, right? Anyone care to speculate the availability for redeeming UA miles on CO for transpacific routes?

I wouldn't really want to fly CA, but you might also want to check out OZ via ICN.
NH C as well as OZ C will blow away anything AA or UA offers and I actually prefer these two carriers over JL.
