I haven't stayed there but have seen some positive comments in the past.
I'm really sorry to hear previous posters experience at Mother's. We were there in March, right after Mardis Gras, and it was as good as always, my husband and I split an order of Red Beans and Rice and a Ferdi. The Ferdi sandwich is the best thing they have there to me. Also the Bloody Marys on tap from what looks like a lemonade dispenser were fantastic too.

Cindi, I didn't put the Arts on the list simply due to walking proximity to the Dome. I'll have a 75lb case I'll be rolling with me to and from the game on Sunday and the Arts seemed like (from the map) that it was about 25% further away.
Send me your thoughts on it though and they'll be justly considered.
We're obviously drinkers but we didn't plan to spend every moment down in the French Quarter. But we would like some nice eats and adult bevs in staggering distance to the hotel.
