I really like the PM, have stayed there several times (my husband did regret that they don't have a hot tub at the pool) I didn't feel like it was down an alley, it was only 1 block off Canal St, but to each his own. No one is mentioning the Renaissance Arts, is that not in the same league? Or is it because it's a few blocks further from the Quarter? I haven't stayed there but have seen some positive comments in the past.

I'm really sorry to hear previous posters experience at Mother's. We were there in March, right after Mardis Gras, and it was as good as always, my husband and I split an order of Red Beans and Rice and a Ferdi. The Ferdi sandwich is the best thing they have there to me. Also the Bloody Marys on tap from what looks like a lemonade dispenser were fantastic too.
