I'm glad you mentioned Mother's. I'd heard a lot about the place and went out of my way to get there for supper one evening. The place is boisterous, friendly and relaxed ... and the food was totally underwhelming. I got one of their seafood combo plates and was very disappointed. I've been told since that Mother's was sold and the quality has gone downhill, but like so many other places of renown, it's reputation with tourists who don't know any better has had enough momentum to keep it going. I will give it full credit for being fun, though! I joked and conversed with at least a dozen people between waiting in line and finishing my meal.
