We're not taking a car too which is helpful, so we're not going to get bent over the table for $100 in parking.
I've stayed at the Pere Marquette and JW before (post-Kat) and I think I'm leaning towards the JW... It wasn't tucked away down a dark alley like the Ren.
At the JW
You walk out the Canal Steet door, you cross the street, there will be at least 5 decent to great places within 1/2 block.
Or use the valet enterance, turn left or right, you will find one of my favorite places if you turn left and walk down two blocks-MOTHERS!Wonderful breakfasts and some of the best down home southern lunches you will find.Turn righ and walk 1/2 block to LUKE a newish John Besh place that has great breakfast lunch and dinner.
Shulas is fine-but it is a Shulas and not unlike any other Shulas you will find throught the US-staff is very wonderful.
The C' lounge at the JW is one of the nicest I have been in.And the Staff at this hotel has treated me very well in the past.
