Questions on a circuitous miles based ticket
My wife and I are BA Gold and returning to the Middle East from US on a miles based ticket in BA First LHR to CAI. We really didn't want to go to CAI - wanted to go to BAH, but there were no seats available. So we took the CAI flight and then got miles based coach RJ tickets to continue the journey and return to BAH. From CAI, we fly on RJ CAI-AMM-BAH, still using miles and still on the same journey with less than 24 hours between flights. RJ flight is in coach. It is a continuation of the BA journey, but with a different PNR. The different PNR was required because we upgraded our BA ticket with a Gold Upgrade certificate.
We are concerned about baggage allowance on RJ flights, and would like to know if under these circumstances our baggage allowance would be higher than the regular RJ coach allowance.
Another question - when we booked the miles-based ticket on BA from LHR-CAI, there were no LHR-BAH seats. If 2 seats (that they'd fill with miles pax) come available, is it possible to switch the LHR-CAI to LHR-BAH? Is that sort of thing done in situations like this?
Many thanks.
