My last trip was at the Renaissance Pere Marquette and I loved it. The pool area is much more interesting than the JW. Breakfast at Shula's is
good, but the bacon they serve, extra thick and well seasoned, is phenomenal! I'd elect to go back to the Renaissance next time, only because I like the decor.
Um, why would you intentionally use the on-site restaurant(s) in New Orleans? For my money, this city has the best food in the United States.

For those paying through the nose for internet connections, I urge you do do what I did a year and a half ago, get a roaming provider. I've been using Boingo with great success. It's been available at every Marriott I've visited. In addition, you have access to numerous hot spots including airport terminals. I think it works out to about twenty-two bucks a month. Well worth it!
