When flying a Star Alliance partner they will only recognize Star Silver/Gold status. UA should be recording AC*A on the boarding pass, clearly they don't update their database very often as they are still showing you as having Star Alliance Gold status (*G). If you were Star Alliance Silver it would show AC*S on UA (or other Star Alliance partners)
With ML*2 - were you on standby or did you receive an operational upgrade?
Thanks, that's very helpful, and I am happy that United have been slow on the uptake with all the recent scrums for overhead bins.
It wasn't me on ML*2.
