You can chat with a friend via Messenger and have them call the EXP desk, as I did from the ITC lounge in DEL. In this way I could get my eVIP applied when I was involuntarily re-routed DEL-BRU-ORD and the DEL AA staff didn't know how to apply the eVIP.
