Hurricane Ike was a huge disaster.
Some of us in the Ohio Valley have felt its "after affects" when the leftovers of Ike hooked up with a cold front and moved northeast with a low level jet.
Here in Louisville we had winds gust up to 75 mph for a period of four hours. We lost power for the better part of the week. Some area residents still do not have power. Some residents do not have homes (tree in home around the corner here).
While this was a large event here, this pales in comparison to what happened in Houston and along the gulf coast. I don't buy Kippie's policies about liquids, but I'm glad to see TSA employees providing valuable services for those in need (assuming they're not being a hindrance -- I just saw Scubatooth's posts)...
