Apart from the LHR taxes, point really is that (except to some extent for frequent flyers) Aeroplan is essentially smoke and mirrors.

You collect more or less useless point. But they try the best they can for you not to figure it out. Until you try booking, obviously.

Best suggestion to you is to lower your expectations about Aeroplan. They are really competition to Airmiles. Which of the two is less bad I don't know. But real bottom line, they are both about equally useless. Spin, spin, smoke and mirrors.

If I weren't a FF, with IKK and the like, I would not bother collecting either.
