If first class seat is still available the night before my flight, I assume it will be offered to me for the $250 upgrade fee. (between SFO and JFK)

However, what will happen to the $50 that I paid for the premium seat? Will they just offer me the upgrade at $200?
I'm pretty sure it will still be the $250. The 24 hour in advance upgrade is a flat fee, and has nothing to do with the fare difference.
