United sells out C on this flight pretty regularly; currently, they're showing C4 D3 for tomorrow, which suggests that the flight will be essentially full in C. I believe Saturday is the busiest days from the US to Asia (arrive Sunday in time for work on Monday), so that would be expected. In a nutshell, I think United would limit award availability in order to make money, something they haven't been terribly good at lately. ;-)
