Hi, I'm a Hilton Diamond member contemplating on switching to SPG.

As a Hilton Diamond, I earn 10points per $ + additional 5 points per $ (part of Hilton choice selection) = 15 points per $ spent. So, if my hotel stay is $200, then I earn about 3000 points. Also, my Hilton Amex earns 5 points per $ hotel stay, so I would earn 5 x $200 = 1000 points. Total points = 4000 points with $200 hotel stay. I need about 25,000-35,000 points to redeem at most $150-$300 hilton hotels, including at NY Manhattan (category 3 & 4).

If I switch to SPG, how much points can I expect to earn? I also have SPG Amex card. How much points do I need for redemption at cat 3 & 4 SPG hotels?
