Not at all. You book an upgradeable fare for the chance at the upgrade..there is no guarantee, particularly on a partner. I am betting they would have given the option of flying another day on NW metal but once the tix are handed off to AF it ain't gonna happen. The miles should be immediately refunded to the account however.
