Is it common/possible for B6 pilots to live 500 miles or so away from JFK--and not within driving distance to an airport B6 flies to? If so, how do they get to work and get home afterwards?
It's possible for B6 pilots to live anywhere. Pilots are assigned base hubs from which their assignments will typically originate and terminate. How the pilot gets to the first leg of his or her assignment is up to them. It's not uncommon for a pilot to commute to work on another airline.
