Wow, I think some of you are going WAY over the top here.\

A few years back, I had to make a deposit to my mother's account at the same bank I was using.

I was specifically told that what you type on the screen and what card you use has absolutely nothing to do with anything. It's just a means of delivering a deposit to the bank.

I typed it in as a $.01 deposit to my own account, included her check and the proper deposit slip and it was golden.

It's not exactly the same as the OPs situation, but based on what I was told, I would have done the same thing.
