Affinia Manhattan is a 3.5 star hotel at which I have had many friends stay - it's not glamorous, but it's perfectly pleasant and clean, and the rooms - particularly the suites - are larger than many NY apartments. It is located opposite Madison Square Garden, and thus in walking distance to Chelsea and Times Square, with easy subway connections to everywhere else. There is a supermarket nearby, and plenty of coffee shops for snacks and food.

It is, in my opinion, one of the better deals in New York. I am unaware of any loyalty program.
