I'm glad that worked out.

Last year, wife and I (U.S. passport holders) arrived at Gatwick for an overnight MR turnaround. The British customs were HIGHLY suspicious and were not about to admit us until I produced an e-ticket print out showing that we had indeed pre-paid our return flight for the next day. On returning to MSP the next day, the U.S immigration person on hearing "one day trip", said "Oh, mileage run" as she stamped our passports.
