Unfortunately, you are probably right, at least for two reasons !

The first one, this solution means seeking the right place in the area and this is not possible.

The second one, police, more than locals, is nowadays more « sensitive » in case of long stay parking especially nearby airports.

It sounds as a « pseudo good idea ». Anyway, if there is any opportunity, i'm taking… ! While waiting to take off, i'm going to seek another way to go to LHR.
