If this is an area where "outsider parking" is deemed to be a problem then it's likely that the locals will be hostile. If they are all nice peaceful law-abiding people then the worst that will happen is that they will report your car as abandoned and look on in glee as it gets towed away. If they're NOT all nice peaceful law-abiding people you could end up with your tyres slashed or other acts of vandalism.

Even when all residents are united in wanting parking restrictions it can sometimes take up to a decade to get those restrictions through, so you could be dealing with some very fed-up and frustrated people who have been pushing for parking restrictions but are still waiting for something to be done.
I don't disagree with you- I think one month is a bit too long. I try to avoid staying parked anywhere for more than 5 days or so.
However, the specific area doesn't have any parking issues, because virtually all houses have their own (usually double) drives where people park, so I can't see anyone vandalising the car for that reason.
