CRETE - Elounda Gulf Villas (NOT Elounda Peninsula which is awful - terrible food). The Gulf Villas are not on the beach, but then nobody has a good beach here. However, the Gulf Villas have large private pools and very caring service.
SANTORINI - Avoid Mystique at all cost - it is frightful. Current best is Katikies.
CORFU - don't go there - it is a package-tour nightmare.
Thank you for your suggestions vuittonofstyle - much appreciated. Elounda Gulf Villas look very interesting. Re Mystique, what have you heard re it being frightful? If we wanted a pool on Santorini, where would we look? Katikies doesn't seem to have rooms with pools (though Mystique doesn't either). Did you have any ideas on Mykonos? I'm really liking the look of Mykonos Blu at the moment.
