Which is why I brought up the gasoline price spike (Jet A doesn't have a ready futures market to quote).

I don't agree that none of these fees will ever go away. Many of the very hidden fees probably won't: UM, pets, stuff like that. But the baggage fees hit everyone, and Southwest is already advertising on it. So, if the market gets better, I can certainly see a race to match.
