Why not just take a taxi to/from the airport? Unless you live miles from Tallahassee that's got to be cheaper than staying at an airport hotel or leaving the car at the hotel.
Tallahassee to Minneapolis airfare at the time was about $500 but flying out of Jacksonville was about $150.00 (this was a few years ago)
It was about 150 miles from my home in Tallahassee to the Jacksonville Airport. So a cab would have been about $250.00. There was no bus service between the two cities at that time and no friends would drive me.
