Was sitting in hospital the other day having a series of pain relieving injections in my back, and as the 8th needle went in , I remembered that at least I was benefiting from several hundred BA Miles by paying for this joyous experience on my credit card!

So it triggered the thought – what’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever purchased or done which has helped to boost the miles balance?

About three years ago I got some decent mileage earning out of some laparoscopic surgery I was having. It meant plenty of pain afterwards, but those 5,000+ miles went nicely towards my annual 2for1 splash… (although that wasn’t the sole reason for the hospital stay!

So who else can come up with something a little out of the ordinary? It doesn't have to be medical...!
