Whiny me again...

In my opinion, EB is not a very good program for just people who fly a lot. To get anything out of it, you have to fly in Economy Extra or Business, preferrably long-haul. If you do that, you don't even have to fly that much to get status. So is it a good customer loyalty programme - probably yes. EBG status gives you some comfortable benefits as a thank you for selecting SAS or partner when doing your quarterly trip to another continent in C. This you can then enjoy of when taking your partner on that romantic weekend. I think most of the benefits at least have been mentioned already.

Is it a good frequent flyer programme - I would say no. Even if you would fly 200 short-haul flights per year only on SAS or other *A, you would not necessarily receive anything else than your EBS card,which basically gives you nothing compared to EBB. The gap to EBG is HUGE. Seriously, how often does anyone use the (BC) check-in counters if at an airport with machines and/or the possibility of online check-in? I use it maybe 10% of the times I fly. And do I carry 30kg of luggage with me? Never. What other benefits where there?

So get rid of the ridiculous 25% rule, make sure you get at least some miles also for other *A flights (even if they would be cheap flights edit: Will within next month have 9 flights with OS that give a total of 0 EB points) make EBS lounges at least on "home airports" or at least give a coffee-voucher or something, start counting number of flights to get status if it should be a true frequent flyer programme, and make some effort to make also EBS feel a bit like home on SAS-group flights (allow 2 pieces of small handluggage, give a free drink in Economy or something like that).

OT: I wish BA or someone else from OW would be the one buying SK, not LH or any other *A company. That would increase the competition in Central Europe and at least I would cut the EBS card I have and become AY gold within 12 months, and Ay Plat within 18. And AY plat is something quite different than EBG...
