Absolutely second that - fabulous food and wine list - it's our favourite restaurant at the moment. It has been shortlisted in the London restaurant awards both in the Italian food and wine categories - think it won wine once - not sure.
Also worth a visit in Putney - Ole - a Spanish restaurant -great fresh fish - try the Parillado de pescado y marisco -

There are also 2 good cheap and cheerful Thai restaurants - Pantong Thai (used to be Manee Thai) 273 upper Richmond Road - on the right coming from East Sheen and Talad Thai at no 320 a bit further along on the left. There is also a branch of Thai Square in a great setting down by the river at Putney Bridge.
In Barnes there is Riva which I see Timeout says attracts 'vaguely famous locals' - if you can call Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin (who were at the next table to us!) vaguely famous then that's true

And finally there's The River Cafe in Hammersmith which isn't too far away - that is if it's reopened after the fire by the time you get here.
