excellent report! enjoyed the read! ^^
Yes, Cuban cigars (and rum etc. etc.) is not allowed to be brought back to the United States. But you must be more of a cigar connoisseur; as I don't really find anything that much better than a non-Cuban Davidoff Grand Cru No. 4.

IMO, the whole Cuban cigar thing is a bit overrated. Though, I did bring back a box of Partagas Minis from ORY duty free back in June.
While on the topic of confiscation at customs in the US; another FlyerTalker (who shall not be named) had $500+ of Cuban Cigars and rum confiscated at CLT customs (they thought they had him on a currency violation, hence the search of his belongings) on his way to meet me in LAS for my birthday in June. The cigars and rum were a birthday surprise.

I agree, that duty free alcohol pricing is not that exciting anymore; though, I do live in NH --- where we have awesome alcohol pricing. I was wondering yesterday if Hennessy XO 750ML could be purchased for less than the $130'ish price (@ our state store) in airport duty free.
Good Luck with the new job; though, I was a bit surprised you went to work for a company that doesn't let you fly First Class (forget about Business

) over the pond.
