Well.....

According to my trusty CX2, assuming a constant groundspeed of 488 knots (this means you can't account for a slower groundspeed in the climb or faster groundspeed in the descent), it would take 4 hours, 28 minutes, and 17 seconds to travel 2,182 nautical miles.

So, you have to figure at the halfway point of 1,091 nautical miles would be half the time of 4:28:17, which would be 2 hours, 14 minutes, and 8.5 seconds. This is under no-wind conditions.

If you depart at 9:02am Hawaii time, then you should arrive at the halfway point at approximately 11:16am Hawaii time. Again, this is assuming no groundspeed change for the climb and descent, and under no wind conditions.

What did the pilot tell you?
