It is possible, but just for regular seats. She is QF WP (Emerald) and wanted an exit row.

It's not about that the 15$ wouldnt be worth it if they would actually charge it to get in the exit row but to make this a general policy... ticket price was 2113 GBP, they have to sell quiet a few seat reservations to get it back.
