I think it's the best hotel in the city and you can't beat the location (easy to confuse, though, with the Charoensri Palace). I stayed a month ago not far away at the City Lodge, which felt more like a bar with rooms above it but was OK. I think I like the Udon Hotel best at around B520 including breakfast. The independent midscales in Isaan can be outstanding value if you don't need the top dog in the market.
